Mrs. Edwin is a fully qualified primary school teacher, currently home educating her three children alongside teaching children between the ages of 5 – 12.  She qualified as a teacher in 2005 but has worked professionally with children since 1997.  People often describe her as hands-on, patient and firm but fair.

She strongly believes in the benefits of gaps based learning through small group teaching sessions. This allows the student to work purely on their own individualised targets but alongside their peers. She believed that children learn from mistakes and will not move on with a lesson until misconceptions have been understood.

Mrs. Edwin offers lessons in small groups of four children per adult in the home setting.

Mrs Edwin's last teaching position was in a local mainstream school which was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2012, she taught a class of 32 children for two years, taking them through Reception and then year 1. She has experience in working with children with various needs such as Autism, Global Delay, Hearing impairment, Dyslexia and children who speak English as an additional language. She is fully aware of the National Curriculum expectations across all primary year groups from Reception to Year 6 (5-11) and also teaches children in KS3 who are working below the expected targets.

Children benefit from working in a home from home, stress-free environment. A particular benefit of small group tutoring is that lessons can be adapted to suit the needs of the students in the group. Children work on individual targets whilst in the group, allowing each child to learn at their own rate. Lessons are finely planned to progression on the subject areas that children are weaker in.
