Maths Lessons
Gaps Based Learning
After an assessment children will work though any learning gaps in every math topic. All children will work through the same topic, for example 'time'. However some children may work through o’clock times during the lesson whilst others will work through problems solving involving time.
Please note your children will also need to have a subscription for an online maths tool that I use which will be an additional cost this will be used for homework. ConquerMaths will cost £50 for the year, this includes a oneoff assessment with feedback.

Knowing multiplication facts for the 3, 4 and 8 times table

Understanding equivalent fractions

Adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator
Measuring

Adding and subtracting measurements of length, weight and capacity

Adding and subtracting amounts of money

Drawing 2D shapes and making 3D shapes

Recognising right angles and identifying whether angles are greater or smaller than a right angle

Identifying horizontal and vertical lines and pairs of parallel and perpendicular lines

Year 4 Maths
In year 4 children need to learn:

Counting backwards through zero to include negative numbers

Rounding any number to the nearest 10, 100 or 1000

Adding and subtracting with numbers up to four digits using column addition and subtraction

Knowing multiplication facts for all times tables up to 12 x 12

Fractions and decimals
