Tuesdays 10:00am - 11:30am Level B​

This class is particularly beneficial for the child who would benefit from a structure or who may lack confidence in his/her writing. However, it has been designed to support children of all ages and abilities.

When?

SUMMER TERM 2021: 20th April - 29th June 2021

Time?
​
Tuesdays 10:30am - 12pm (90 minutes)
​
What?
​
Your child will learn about note-taking, making an outline, writing from notes and retelling narrative stories.
​
How?
We will cover the first three units from the Institute of Excellent in writing curriculum. For more information on the IEW curriculum, visit the IEW website. We use a mixture of DVD-based lessons with direct teaching from Mrs Edwin. Children will learn how to identify certain dress-ups such as ly adverbs, who and which clauses, strong verbs, because clauses, vocabulary and much more.

£100 per month over two months (1st May & 1st June).

£70 per month over three months (1st May, 1st June, 1st July)

Expectation:
Each student will complete weekly writing assignments. Our creative writing courses require a hands-on approach by parents and carers who we refer to as the editors. You are responsible for checking FIVE areas of your child's work which includes:
1. capitalisation
2. end marks
3. spellings
4. does it make sense?
5. neatness

Equipment​
​
All equipment will be photocopied and supplied to your child.
​
Covid-19
Please check your child's temperature before they arrive. Temperatures will be checked on arrival and a student with a temperature above 37.6 will not be able to enter the classroom. Please read our terms and conditions for more information on our Covid policy.

Pre-requisite
No IEW experience is necessary but your child will need to able to read and write at a basic level.
